Warsaw has a long and interesting history. It became the capital of Poland in 1596 when King Sigismund III Vasa moved here from Kraków 👑. During World War II, from 1939 to 1945, the city faced great difficulties. The Polish people fought bravely in the Warsaw Uprising of 1944, trying to free their city from German occupation. Sadly, most of the city was destroyed during the war. However, after the war, Warsaw was rebuilt from the rubble!
