The Triumph Spitfire was first introduced in 1962 at the London Motor Show. π
Designed by the talented Angus Mackie, it was created to compete with other small sports cars like the
MG Midget. The first model was called the Mark I, and it had a 1.1-liter engine. Over the years, new models came out, like the Mark II and III, each with special features! By the time production ended in 1980, more than 300,000 Spitfires had been made! Thatβs a lot of little cars! π
The Spitfire helped make sports cars popular for everyday drivers!
