In ancient Rome, many gods and goddesses were worshipped. The Pantheon was dedicated to these deities, including
Jupiter, the king of the gods; Mars, the god of war; and Venus, the goddess of love. ๐
People would pray and leave offerings to these gods for help and blessings. In addition to Roman gods, the Pantheon honored the gods of many different cultures within the empire, uniting people under one roof! There were statues and altars throughout the building, showing how important these deities were to everyday life. ๐
