In the late 1700s, Stoke-on-Trent began to grow as a pottery manufacturing center. π¨
People, especially potters, came from all over to work in factories. One important person was Josiah Wedgwood, who started making fine pottery in the 1750s. By 1900, Stoke-on-Trent became a
city. In 1925, it combined six towns: Burslem, Hanley, Longton, Fenton, Tunstall, and Stoke. These towns came together to create one big family! π
οΈ The city played a big part in creating jobs and beautiful pottery that people still treasure today!
