It begins at the medulla oblongata, which is in the lower part of the brain. The spinal cord is divided into sections: cervical (in the neck), thoracic (in the upper back), lumbar (in the lower back), sacral (in the pelvic area), and coccygeal (the tailbone area). Each section has special nerves that can communicate with different parts of the body. 📡
