The Scottish Parliament has a rich history that goes back many centuries! It first started in 1235 and met in places like churches and castles. 🏰
However, in 1707, it was combined with the
English Parliament and stopped meeting. For over 300 years, Scotland didn't have its own Parliament! Then, in 1997, people voted to bring it back! 🎉
In 1999, the new Scottish Parliament was officially opened. This was an exciting moment because it allowed Scots to make their own decisions once again!
