Saint Sophia Cathedral was completed in 1037 by Prince Yaroslav the Wise, who wanted to honor his Christian faith βͺοΈ. It was built to show the power of Kievan Rus', the first state of the
Ukrainian people. Over the years, the cathedral has seen many important events, like royal ceremonies and weddings. Sadly, it faced attacks and even fires! π₯
But, it was rebuilt many times and remains a symbol of Ukraineβs rich history that we can still visit today.
