Raichu made its debut in Pokémon Red and Green, released in Japan in 1996. It was created by Satoshi Tajiri, and its name comes from the
Japanese words “rai” (雷), which means thunder, and “chu” (チュー), which is the sound a mouse makes. 🐭
Raichu is often found in the Kanto region, where trainers catch and battle various Pokémon. In 2016, Alolan Raichu was introduced, which is a special form that can learn Psychic-type moves, and it’s found in the Alola region! 🌴
