Olga Korbut was born in a small village in
Belarus called Grodno π³. From a young age, she loved to be active and usually played outside with her friends. At just 6 years old, she started taking gymnastics lessons. Her coach, Mikhail Klimenko, quickly noticed her special talent! π
Olga trained hard in a gymnastics club and learned how to do flips, cartwheels, and even more advanced moves! In 1969, she moved to the big city of Minsk to train at a special gymnastics school π«, where she became even better and started dreaming of competing in the Olympics.
