Maduro's economic policies aimed to help the poor but have faced lots of criticism. 💰
He continued many of Hugo Chávez's programs, including those focused on social welfare, providing food and services. However, Venezuela faced massive shortages of food and
medicine. This caused many families to struggle. Maduro also controls the currency, called the Bolívar, but doing this led to hyperinflation, a fancy word of saying prices soar too high! Many Venezuelans couldn't buy what they needed, leading to a tough economic situation.
