The Mongolian alphabet has a long history! ๐
It began in the early 13th century when Genghis Khan, a famous Mongolian leader, wanted to unify his people. The first alphabet was borrowed from the
Uyghur script. Over time, with different rulers and influences, the alphabet changed! In the 1940s, the Soviet Union introduced the Cyrillic script, which many Mongolians use today. This change made it easier for people to learn how to read and write. Interestingly, some Mongolians still use the traditional vertical script for cultural reasons! ๐
