Mnemosyne was the proud mother of the nine Muses, who were known as the "inspirers." π The Muses are: Calliope (epic poetry), Clio (history), Erato (lyric poetry), Euterpe (music), Melpomene (tragedy), Polyhymnia (sacred poetry),
Terpsichore (dance), Thalia (comedy), and Urania (astronomy). π
Each Muse had her own special talent and would help artists, writers, and musicians think of new ideas! People in ancient Greece believed that if they wanted to be creative, they should honor Mnemosyne and her daughters, asking for their guidance to unlock their imaginations. π
