Maiasaura, meaning "good mother lizard," was a large dinosaur that roamed the earth during the Late Cretaceous period, around 76 million years ago! π¦
It belonged to a group called duck-billed dinosaurs, or hadrosaurs, which were known for their flat, duck-like snouts. Fossils of Maiasaura have been found in Montana, USA, mainly in a place called the Two
Medicine Formation. Maiasaura stood about 9 feet tall and could grow up to 30 feet long, making it one of the largest dinosaurs of its time!
