Goliath groupers are big and bulky! They have a wide mouth filled with sharp teeth and a large, rounded body. Their skin is tough and covered in small scales, which can be bright green, gray, or brown, allowing them to camouflage in their surroundings. πΏ
Their dorsal fin (the fin on their back) is tall and can be long, while their pectoral fins (the side fins) are very large and help them steer through the water. They have very small eyes compared to their body size. Despite that, they have excellent vision underwater! π
