Geysers begin with water stored underground, heated by hot rocks. ๐ฅ
When the water heats up, it turns into steam, which takes up more space. As the steam forms, it creates
pressure. Once the pressure is too much, the water bursts out from the surfaceโlike a shaken soda bottle! ๐ฅ
This can cause spectacular eruptions! The water can shoot out in jets that can reach heights of over 200 feet! Geysers usually need a special setup with a deep underground source, so not every hot spring becomes a geyser. Isn't that cool? ๐ก
