George Dantzig grew up in a family that valued education. His father was a mathematician and his mother was a teacher. ๐
When he was in high school, he often found himself fascinated by math problems. After high school, George attended the University of
Maryland, and later transferred to Stanford University. ๐ซ
During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army and took part in important research projects. After the war, he returned to Stanford to complete his Ph.D. in mathematics in 1951, where he continued to excel in his studies! ๐
