Flight is an exciting way to move through the sky! 🛫

Flight can happen in two main places: our atmosphere (the air around Earth) or outer space (which is a big empty area). When something flies, it doesn’t touch the ground at all. Birds, airplanes, and rockets are great examples of flying objects! Did you know that the fastest bird is the peregrine falcon, reaching speeds of 240 mph (386 km/h)? 🦅

Flight allows us to explore new places and see the world from high above. Isn’t it amazing to think about how things soar through the sky? 🌍✈️

There are different types of flight! 🐦

Animals like birds and insects fly using their wings. Hovering is when something stays in one spot, like a hummingbird! 🦋

Gliding is when creatures like butterflies or planes ride air currents to stay up. ✈

A long time ago, people dreamed of flying like birds! In 1903, Orville and Wilbur Wright built the first successful airplane, the Wright Flyer, at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina! 🚀

They flew for just 12 seconds! Since then, aviation grew quickly. By 1927, Charles Lindbergh flew non-stop across the Atlantic Ocean in the Spirit of St. Louis! 🗺
