Dalmatians have an interesting history that dates back over 400 years! π
They were first seen in the region of Dalmatia, located in present-day
Croatia, hence their name. In the 18th century, these dogs became popular as carriage dogs, running alongside horse-drawn carriages to protect the horses and passengers. Today, Dalmatians are also known for their connection to firehouses, where they would keep the horses company and help clear the way for fire trucks! π
Their legacy continues in movies and books, like the famous "101 Dalmatians."
