Making carbon steel involves several steps! β³
First, raw iron ore is extracted from the earth in places like Brazil or
Australia. πͺ¨
The ore is then heated in a furnace to remove impurities, leaving pure iron. Next, carbon is added, often from coke (a type of coal), to create carbon steel. π₯
After mixing, the steel might be poured into molds and cooled. This is called casting. Later, it's shaped using tools or machines, like rolling mills. π
Finally, steel is treated to make it stronger or to form it into specific products, making it ready for use in all sorts of structures!
