Canada's history goes back thousands of years! Before
European explorers arrived, many Indigenous peoples, like the First Nations, Inuit, and Mรฉtis, lived and thrived in the land. ๐
In 1497, the Italian explorer John Cabot was one of the first Europeans to reach Canada. The French and British later competed for control of the land. In 1867, Canada became a country on July 1st, known as Canada Day! ๐
It started as a union of four provinces: Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia. Over the years, Canada grew and expanded, adding new provinces and territories to its map!
