Bill Shepherd has had an incredible career! π
He flew on three space missions: STS-5 in 1982, STS-51 in 1985, and Expedition 1 in 2000. During his first mission on STS-5, he helped launch satellites into space. For his second mission, STS-51, Shepherd did important work on the
Space Shuttle Atlantis. But the most famous moment of his career came when he became the first commander of the ISS in 2000. π
He worked with astronauts from different countries, showing how people can work together in space!
