The Australian Open began way back in 1905! π¦πΊ At first, it was only for men, and it was called the Australasian Championships. In 1927, women started playing, and the name was changed to the Australian Championships. Over the years, it grew bigger and more popular! In 1969, the tournament became open for all players, which was a big change. π
